yup, I've done a bit of melting plastic to things on the stove. The smell alone taught me a lesson never mind the cleanup.

yup, been there! Managed to melt a whole plastic plate onto a solid hob once, the toxic smell was shocking (thankfully it was in our pre-baby days)!

And Cody, I've been considering doing "Don't Use Plastic Utensils" as an obvious kitchen tip. You just made the decision for me.

Oh yeah, I've done that a few times. Heck, it's so hot here in Malaysia that the same thing happens if you simply leave a bag on the counter for too long :P
